"Martial arts training develops self discipline. This is true. However, it would be a mistake to assume that simply showing up to practice will work some magical transformation. Self discipline is a muscle that must be exercised to make it grow bigger and stronger. No one can train you like yourself. Yes, it is possible to hire a trainer, but ultimately you must work, you must sweat, to achieve results. It would also be a mistake to compare ourselves to others. Each of us is different. We each must develop at our own pace. Look to your own training. Train at your own pace but challenge yourself, too. I am utterly inspired by students who push themselves in spite of so many obstacles to their training. THAT is self discipline. See you on the mat!"
