A traditional Japanese martial art of movement and power. Translated literally, Aikido is “the way of meeting life force.” Aikido training goes beyond techniques for self-defense, with the goal of self improvement.
The traditional martial art of Japanese swordsmanship. Translated literally, Iaido is “the way of meeting being in the moment.” The ultimate goal of Iaido is focus and the ability to respond calmly and efficiently to sudden attack.
Aikido training provides children with the opportunity to learn self-defense without promoting violence to solve problems. Far more than just kicking and colored belts, Aikido helps children develop the skills they need to succeed in life.

Peachtree Aikikai Atlanta is a traditional dojo (training hall), for Japanese martial arts, dedicated to the preservation and instruction of Aikido and Iaido. Our student body is both ethnically and professionally diverse. Physicians, university faculty and students, CEOs, technology specialists, artists, business folk, and, of course, children train here.
Peachtree focuses on rigorous training in a collegial atmosphere instead of competition, and experts from around the world visit Peachtree Aikikai to teach and grow our Aikido. Aikido is available all over the world, and Peachtree students are welcomed in Aikido schools whenever and wherever their travels take them. Peachtree Aikikai Atlanta is affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation and the International Aikido Federation under Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei and, in memorium, Mitsunari Kanai Sensei.
