Summer Camp 2024 withOsawa Sensei and USAF Technical Committee Shihan and Shidoin

Hello everyone, We are very pleased to invite you to the Aikido de la Montagne Summer Camp to be held in Montreal from July 21 to 27, 2024. Here are a few logistical details:

1. Pre-registration and registration

Until June 23, 2024, a discount of approximately 10% will be granted on the following rates: Full camp, 1/2 camp and daily passes.Link for pre-registration and registration: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/aikidodelamontagne/1181068 Additional information about the event: https://aikidodelamontagne.ca/summer-camp-2024/

2. Practice facility, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) at 1212 Sanguinet

Located about 1 kilometer (just over 1/2 mile) from the hotels, this triple gymnasium allows us to easily set up 300 tatamis, and even 400 if need be.Curtain dividers allow us to isolate Aikido classes from weapons classes and introductory Iaido classes from more advanced Iaido classes. Although the entrance to the Sports Center is filtered, we strongly suggest that you bring a padlock and not to leave valuables in your locker.

3.Accommodation

All the hotels we have proposed are located approximately 1 kilometer (+or- 1/2 mile) from the UQAM gymnasium (venue). All hotels are located next to each other. To accommodate all budgets, we looked for hotels that, while close to each other, offered a variety of prices, from between $89 and $236 Canadian + tax/night ($65 and $170 US + tax/night).

4.Entering Canada

Don’t forget to check the entry requirements for Canada. These may vary depending on your nationality. So don’t wait until the last minute…

5. Exams

Exams will take place on Friday, July 26th.

6. Insurance

We have public liability insurance that covers the duration of the Summer Camp.We have made enquiries to help those who wish to do so to find insurance to cover the cost of medication, hospitalization, etc.Our insurer suggested SECURIGLOBE. You can reach this company:1-888-241-4444 for North America514-370-2525 from anywhere else in the worldreference code: CLO658mention endorsement TUGO mixed martial artsPlease note that we have no connection with this company and that you are free to do your own research. The agreement you make, if there is one, will be between you and SECURIGLOBE.  Aikido de la Montagne does not have any agreement with SECURIGLOBE and derives no profit from any agreements made with you.

7. Meeting place

One of our favorite activities at Summer Camp is socializing, where we get to get to know each other better. Our dojo will be closed during the Summer Camp and will serve as an evening meeting place for all participants. Aikido de la Montagne is located about 700 meters (less than 1/2 mile) from the hotels, and we will be serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at close to cost price, with the aim of to allow all participants to relax at a reasonable cost.

8. Banquet Friday July 26 at 3625 Ave du Parc

The banquet will take place just across the street from our dojo in the reception room of one of the McGill University hotels. You can bring your own beverage. Here's the menu: Banquet_Menu
