PERFECT TIMING (repost)

True martial arts training begins with respect.

Being on time is not just some rule to obey or ignore.

Most of you may know that I am a lawyer by day. “Time is of the essence” is lawyer talk that means people promise to perform on time.

Better late than never is just an excuse for poor performance. Of course, I would rather see my students late to the mat than not at all but . . . better never late.

If late once . . . MOVE QUICKLY to correct and ready yourself without further delay

– to show respect for your instructors and classmates who are waiting for you to catch up.

Timing and positioning are the essence of all martial arts. Knowing when you need to be just where you need to be shows your diligence and respect for our art.

Thank you in advance!
