Dojo Grooming Etiquette
Peachtree Fam,
How we maintain our person is a reflection of our respect - for our training, our partners, our instructors, our dojo, and our art.
We train in close physical contact so, for clean and pleasant training, please remember to always –
- Wash your hands before and after every class
- Do not wear a stained, yellowed, or frayed uniform
- Wear a clean uniform (and clean undergarments) and wash your uniform (and undergarments) after every class*
*White belts should be washed with your uniform, black belts and hakama should be washed at least monthly
- Avoid smelling of excessive fragrances, bad breath, body odor, smoke or food, especially if you exercise, smoke or eat before class**
**In other words, if you exercise, smoke or eat before class, then you should wash and change clothes before class
- Keep your fingernails and toenails clipped short, and do not wear jewelry or accessories to avoid scratching your partners
- If you have long hair, tie it up
- If you feel ill, don’t come to class or, if you’re getting over a cold, wear a mask when training or just watch class
Thank you ALL!
See you on the clean and pleasant mat!
